  • MAURICE VICTOR: Guitar, Classical Guitar, Electric Bass, Ukulele & Piano

    Maurice is the founder of MOTOWN music school based in Bentleigh East, VIC. He has been a guitar teacher for more than 30 years.

    Born in Melbourne, Maurice graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Music (Professional Music) - Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, USA, and an Advanced Certificate in Music Performance (Jazz/Pop), Box Hill TAFE, Melbourne, Australia. He also has a BEc. (Economics), Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

    Returning home after almost 10 years abroad, Maurice has gigged extensively in the USA, Europe and Mexico, playing guitar in a wide variety of settings. He has also been a guitar teacher in the studio setting for many years both in America and Australia.

    The small ensemble setting is his focus, using Music History, Jazz Theory, Harmony and Ear Training as a basis for teaching. Whether you play Rock, Blues, Funk, Jazz, Contemporary or World Music.

    Maurice gigs with: The St. Silas Ramblers Jazz Band, "None of Your Business (Band)", playing a variety of Rock, Blues and Dance music from the 50's to the present. He also gigs with Snazz Jazz, Groovcentrix and has performed with Vered Harel.

    Wanting to further his playing skills, he currently studies classical guitar under John Michailidis.

    You can easily learn music and expand your playing skills with the 30 years of music experience and musicianship Maurice has to offer.

    JOHN MICHAILIDIS: Classical Guitar

    John Michailidis is a classical guitar performer and teacher with more than 40 years of experience.

    He studied with Jason Waldron in Adelaide in the early 90’s and with Benjamin Dix, founding member of the Melbourne Guitar Quartet.

    He is an active member of the Victorian Classical Guitar Orchestra for over a decade and has recorded with them on numerous occasions. The Orchestra have been invited to play at the M-Pavillion as part of the Melbourne Festival on a number of occasions. They have also given concerts all around Melbourne, including at the Docklands, Substation Museum, and many other venues.

    Over the years his numerous performances include:

    Giving a recital at the Melbourne Guitar Festival.

    Played as a guest with the Melbourne Guitar Quartet at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

    Giving Master classes with Harold Gretton, Peter Constant and Marion Schaap

    Composed music that was recently recorded on YouTube by Dr Daniel Nistico

    He can provide guitar lessons at your own pace and level.

  • TROY CASTLE: Voice, Classical Piano & Trumpet

    Melbourne-based, emerging Australian Baritone, Troy Castle BMus(Hons) AmusA, graduated with first class honours from The University of Queensland (UQ) School of Music where he studied under the tutelage of Dr Shaun Brown.

    Throughout Troy’s musical career, he has had performance engagements across the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria. He has performed as a guest artist with several orchestras, including the Ipswich City Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the UQ Symphony Orchestra, and the Clarence Valley Orchestra.

    Troy was a soloist at Opera with the Cows in Cowper, was a featured associate artist with the Australian Men’s Rugby Choir in Canberra, and toured Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, China with the School of Music performing with the Xi’an Symphony Orchestra and at the Xi’an Conservatory of Music. Troy made his QPAC debut as the Baritone soloist in the University of Queensland’s presentation of Faure’s Requiem in 2018.

    Performances include: the role of God 2 in Kats-Chernin’s Iphis (Lyric Opera Melbourne), Eisenstein in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (Cuskelly College), Michele in Puccini’s Il Tabarro (Cuskelly College), Gianni Schicchi in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (UQ), God 2 in Kats-Chernin’s Iphis (Lyric Opera Melbourne), and performed in the Australian premiere of Richard Ferguson’s Opera Galactica with Brisbane City Opera.

    GLENN ROACHE: Drums

    Glenn Roche has played in many diverse bands over the years and has played professionally in Australia and overseas with both original and cover bands. Glenn has played: on television, at music festivals, in numerous studio sessions, and has taught drums for many years.

    CHRISTOPHER ROURKE: Bass Guitar, Drums, Piano & Guitar

    Christopher Rourke is a seasoned professional musician known for his mastery of the bass guitar and his passion for teaching music. With a career spanning over a decade, Christopher has left an indelible mark on the music scene, both in Australia and internationally.

    His journey in music has taken him across the globe, including two captivating tours in China with an Australian orchestra featuring four illustrious Broadway singers from America. In 2019, Christopher showcased his talent on stage with the acclaimed blues band Rhythm X Revival, earning the prestigious title of Australian Blues Performer of the Year and making waves as a finalist in the International Blues Competition held in Memphis, Tennessee.

    Christopher's musical prowess extends beyond the blues genre. He has collaborated with renowned UK artist Z-Star, captivating audiences across Australia with their electrifying performances. Amidst the challenges posed by the Melbourne lockdowns, Christopher and his band Riding Northbound persevered, releasing five soul-stirring singles that resonated with listeners nationwide.

    Currently, Christopher's rhythmic finesse can be felt in the groovy beats of the reggae band Uncle B, as well as in the soulful melodies of his own blues-rock ensemble, The Heavy Kicks. Alongside his bandmates, Riding Northbound is on the brink of a milestone, with the recording of their highly anticipated debut album underway.

    Beyond his performances on stage, Christopher's dedication to music education shines brightly. Since 2010, he has been imparting his expertise to aspiring musicians, nurturing the next generation of talent. Armed with a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from Boxhill Institute, Christopher's versatility spans across multiple musical genres, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the vibrant Australian music scene.

    With his unwavering passion, unparalleled skill, and a repertoire that spans across genres, Christopher Rourke continues to enchant audiences, leaving an unforgettable impression wherever his music takes him.

    BELLA SCHNEIDER: Saxophone

    Bella’s lyrical style of playing saxophone has come from years of singing in choirs.  Coupled with a rigorous practice schedule and guidance from many well established musicians, Bella has managed, in a very short time, to develop her own style with a very strong foundation in classical saxophone technique and repertoire. Her classical interests have also peaked with studies in Jazz.

    Hard work has paid off for Bella as she was selected to tour Europe in 2024 gigging in Switzerland and France.
